Twenty Ten

2009 has come and gone in what seemed to be as quick as mix from the Belgium brothers 2 many Djs. 2009 was another good year for Australian music. The scene is going stronger than old mate walking around the festival with one thong on.... Australian music is raw, edgy, diverse and very fucking good. The music we recently produce and our grade A bands and Djs has lead to Australia becoming an industy leader in a wide genre of music...

Having a strong scene makes the best want to come here and if you look at some of the acts that have left our ears ringing and teeth trembling over the last few months this cant be denied. Djs and bands from europe and beyond are taking pay cuts just to be apart of the Australian summer of love festivities. The only problem being that they have to better than the locals....

Twisted electronic keyboards seem to making way for funkier stuff with a a good beat to boot. While funk is fun to much funk can be boring so we will have to see what the creatives do to us in 2010.

Vote 1

The top 100 Djs in the world? Yeah maybe not. Each one of these charts always seem so trivial. Typical Djs getting top spot.... Its good to see the likes of Deadmau5 etc up there, but when you dont see the names such A-Track and Fake Blood it can hardly be a representation of the guys who have disturbed our ears over the past year.

Dont get me wrong there are some decent Djs on this list no doubt, but seriously some of these guys have been around since the dawn of time..... If you want to vote for the classic Djs still spinning and can throw a party Grand Master and alike will kill these folk any day.

Insert Coin(s)

Gameboy/Gamegirl are now officially game-over. No more transsexual gaming for you.....

This one is probably their best track

It looks like Game on for Kurt Cobain, Courtney Love and the creators of Guitar hero. Apparently Courtney Love signed over the rights to use the Nirvana front man for the game but due to being sniffed up on her own little concoction of teen spirit Miss Love is unable to remember signing the agreement.

While on the other hand the ever technology friendly robots Daft Punk have created 11 exclusive tracks for the upcoming lounge chair Dj Game Dj Hero. Tracklist below..... Some pretty dope bootlegs.

Daft Punk "Around the World" vs. Young MC "Bust A Move" Daft Punk "Da Funk" vs. N.A.S.A. "Strange Enough ft. Karen O, ODB and Fatlip" Daft Punk "Da Funk" vs. Queen "Another One Bites the Dust" Daft Punk "Robot Rock" vs. Hashim "Al-Naafiysh (The Soul)" – Produced and mixed by The Scratch Perverts Daft Punk "Robot Rock" vs. Queen "We Will Rock You" Daft Punk "Short Circuit" vs. Boogie Down Productions "Jack Of Spades" Daft Punk "Technologic" vs. Gary Numan "Cars" Daft Punk "Television Rules The Nation" vs. No Doubt "Hella Good"

Pyramid, helmet and 50,000 screaming gurners not included

Dj Am died like a rock-star a few weeks ago in his apartment from holding onto a good night for a bit to long. They guy was pretty good talent that was able to tail end any two songs.

Peace.

So todays post is all about the universal language spoken all over the world - music.

Kick it off with some 80's

Daft Punk ate my Popcorn

People have just about blown their load after hearing rumors of Daft Punks return to the infamous triangle. The Disney Movie "Tron Legacy" is responsible for this madness. You see
Daft Punk scored the music to the film so when the film is released the robots will come out to play. The director of the film Joseph Kosinski has been quoted confirming that their will be "Daft Punk Tron themed" events in the not to distant future. Well, well, well this devlopment has everyone in club land going bonkers and leaving some just down right confused. The problem many punters will face is what comes first the bag of popcorn or the smaller bag of flip flops many will gobble when they go reaching for the clouds at the event. No doubt some will get confused. So expect to see some munters at the cinemas trying to hide their gurn in a bag of maltesers while at the event keep an eye out for the lost stoners who will turn up completely blazed in their favorite cinema get up.

The downside i see to this little story is it that it smells a bit like a sell out. Americans are known for selling things out, especially music! Hopefully this is not so for our belovered robots.

Now there is a video of a few geeks walking around looking at Tron Legacy stuff you can check that out here. Video link

Otherwise here are the sounds and riffs that the robots are about reboot our ears and senses with.

enjoy....

Modular

Modulars traveling circus Neverland is set to return in 2009. Having so many issues and mixed reviews about the last one it will be interesting to see how this one goes. I liked last years, It was pretty fun plus anyone who watched Cut Copys set couldn't have walked out with a bitter taste in their mouth unless it was self inflicted. They were pretty dam good.

The line up is yet to be announced and is probably useless anyway after last years efforts with half the bill not turning up or puling out due to poor ticket sales..... This years rumor mill has the new look Wolfmother firmly focused to be one of the big headliners. (Sorry no Daft Punk or alike been thrown around this year)

Busy P's guide to hosting a party

With Parklife not far away Busy P has been chatting about what exactly he is preparing to do as the host of Parklife. In his own words Mr P is going to "try and further bring the crowd into it with some on stage antics" as well as "getting all the bands and Djs from backstage on stage while the other acts are playing." "Kinda bring the backstage onstage, "I want to create a family atmosphere" and being good friends with both Empire of the Sun and Erol Alkan it sounds like a family that 30,000+ gurners will want to be a part of.

Parklife:

Sat 26th Sep – Botanic Gardens & Riverstage, Brisbane
Sun 27th Sep – Wellington Square, Perth
Sat 3rd Oct – Birrarung Marr, Melbourne
Sun 4th Oct – Kippax Lake, Moore Park, Sydney
Mon 5th Oct – Botanic Park, Adelaide

Black Eye Peas killed the sampler

WILL.I.AM and the Black Eye Peas who once tried to pull a sneaky sample fro Daft Punks classic "around the world" has been at it again this time apparently stelaing a Sample from Adam Freeland. Adam Freeland has accused the Black Eye Peas of using a sample from his track Marncy to make their lame ass song Party all the time. The kids hope this little misdameaner will put a recording ban on the Black Eyed Peas all together! Seriously their is only so much shit music one can take and they have dished up his fair serving of it.

so to celberate people sampling here is Bang Gang five minute mix that features 80 songs/ samples in 5 minutes

Guns 'N' Bombs

It seems Guns and Bombs have run out of amo. The duo of have split and released this statement

'We - Guns 'n' Bombs - have broken up. Filip will continue to make music as Turbotito and with his bands Ima Robot and Djosos Krost and Johnny has a new project called Deathface. We want to thank the great fans at Womb in Tokyo, The Trashbags crew in Australia, the cool festival crowd in Portugal, the regulars who went to No Culture in LA, everyone at Skylab in Denver, and a lot more people we're forgetting right now. We'd also like to thank our management, our publicists, and the booking agencies, labels, and groups that we've worked with, as without your effort none of our travel and success would've happened. As a "parting gift" here's a free MP3 of one of the last songs we did, with vocals from our friend Ricardo"

Kids in the Kitchen....

Back again! This time we made sushi

Another sweet one from the Twelves

Alex Gropher has got to be one of the most underrated producers around. This is another quality track from Mr Gropher

If I know you by The Preset was not one that got me straight away. I am not a huge fan of the original though this remix is pure joy kiddies

The light year boys have delivered big time in my opinion with this track..... You will never guess the drop.

Scottie B is turning out quality tunes and this is another to add to his tally

RnB clubs must outweigh any other club 50 to 1 in America, but she still manages to walk into one where there not playing hip hop or RnB.
